Patient-voice layer — type 2 diabetes¶

Method¶
This layer synthesises public organisational material and published research about lived experience. Sources were fetched live, and claims are paraphrased. No private individual is named or recorded; public story pages are treated as examples, not representative samples. Themes require at least two source types where possible: a peer-reviewed source plus an organisation or a second independent public source.
Ethics¶
- Public sources only.
- No identifying detail from private individuals.
- Quotes are avoided; any future quote must be ≤15 words and attributed.
- Experience is reported in aggregate, not as a universal patient view.
- Organisational campaigns are advocacy evidence, not prevalence surveys.
- Type 1 and type 2 experiences are not conflated when treatment burden differs.
Coverage¶
Current coverage is English-language and weighted toward international, US, UK and Australian organisations. Low- and middle-income, indigenous and non-English first-person material is underrepresented. The sources demonstrate themes, not their frequency.
