Coverage limits

  • Knee OA and arthroplasty dominate; hip, hand, foot, shoulder, spine and multi-joint experience are underrepresented.
  • English-language and high-income-country services dominate.
  • People outside care, unable to exercise, denied surgery, with low digital access, or facing transport and cost barriers are less visible.
  • Working-age samples capture employment but may exclude people already pushed out of work.
  • Organization material reflects service priorities and editorial choices, not population-representative testimony.
  • Searches did not use private social-media groups or closed patient communities for ethical and reproducibility reasons.
