COPD patient-voice layer

Last curated: 2026-08-30

Method

This layer triangulates peer-reviewed qualitative/patient-reported literature with public materials from verified patient and lung-health organizations. Sources were rechecked live on 2026-08-30. Themes are reported in aggregate; no private forum, closed group or private social-media material was used.

Ethics

  • Public sources only.
  • Paraphrase; direct quotations, if any, are limited to 15 words and attributed.
  • Do not record names or identifying details of private individuals.
  • Organization “story” pages are treated as selected advocacy material, not representative samples.
  • Smoking-related experience is described without blame.
  • Absence of a theme means lack of coverage, not lack of importance.

Coverage

Current sources emphasize English-language organizations in the USA, UK/Europe, Canada and Australia. Low- and middle-income settings, occupationally exposed workers, never-smokers, Indigenous communities, people without internet access and caregivers need deeper representation.
