Patient and carer organizations¶
| Organization | Region | Publicly described services | Verified source | Accessed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Beat | UK | Helpline, web chat, moderated groups, resources, carer hub, policy work | Beat | 2026-09-02 |
| ANAD | US | Free peer support, helpline, support groups, recovery mentoring and directory | ANAD About | 2026-09-02 |
| F.E.A.S.T. | International | Caregiver education, peer groups, forum, mentorship and community | F.E.A.S.T. | 2026-09-02 |
| Eating Disorders Families Australia | Australia | National support, education and advocacy for carers/families | EDFA (HTTP 200 on audit re-check, 2026-09-02); the Australian Government directory entry previously cited timed out on re-check and is retained only as a secondary pointer | 2026-09-02 |
Audit re-verification, 2026-09-02. All four organization URLs were re-requested by the independent auditor. Beat (HTTP 200), ANAD (200) and F.E.A.S.T. (200) resolved. The Australian Government directory URL originally recorded for EDFA did not respond within 40 seconds on two attempts, so the organization's own site — which resolved cleanly — is now the primary verified source for that row. This is a link-availability observation, not a finding about the organization.
Scope notes¶
All four organizations address multiple eating disorders, not AN alone. Availability, hours, eligibility and geographic reach can change; the linked page is authoritative. Peer support and helplines do not replace emergency or specialist medical care. No private participant story was collected.
