Coverage limits¶
The sources overrepresent English-language, high-income, healthcare-engaged populations. People without diagnostic imaging, insurance, digital access, stable employment or specialist referral are underrepresented. Public organization sites curate their mission and success stories; they do not provide representative prevalence estimates. No private social-media source was used. A live PubMed E-utilities sweep on 2026-08-30 identified a DDD-specific qualitative content-validity study of ODI (Powers 2026, PMID 41507883), but no representative DDD patient-priority survey using a stated probability or validated sampling frame. Future work should prioritize multilingual qualitative syntheses and patient-led organizations in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.
